Actually you can make a good guess what your RE code is, just by the type of discharge you received.

honorable discharge ...... RE = 1

administratively discharged ......... RE = 2 or 3

Court martial discharge ...... RE = 4

generally, a less than honorable or general discharge would give you a RE Code of 3

bad conduct or dishonorable would give you an RE Code of 4.

RE Codes of 2 are rarely given

in addition to whats was posted above, 2 Q for meidcal discharge.

If its none of these Im sure you could go to AFPC and look it up. RE codes should be the same no matter what bracnh. Unless its Navy they just cant do anything normal.

You can get a copy of your dd214 from the records depository through either Veterans Affairs request or your own request on the web site of the service you served in.
