Very few people will credit God or anyone else for their fame ( if they are famous ). Their good fortune was because of their superior brain, their great intelligence, their fabulous beauty, etc.
Now blame, that's something else. If things don't work out correctly somebody put a jinks on, or the devil did it, or God didn't favor him. The fault is always somewhere else.

In the Bhagwat Gita Lord Krishna says to Arjuna, 'surrender your ego to me. You are not the doer, I am.' So if we are puppets in His hands.He is bound to take the blame and fame.
