I think words are underused - people just don't communicate properly anymore and this is becoming detrimental to even the most basic forms of relationships. We can't just connect to one another without first trying to understand one another and this happens through talking or general communication.

I often think we're missing something in English by not having the French "Salut!", that is surely to our detriment.

yes, our vocabulary has definintly decreased immensly ever since IM's and SMS were brought on. even kids in public schools are using words like' gonna' and 'ur' in essays. and since the vocab has lessened, you end up using the same words again and again since you dont know the synonyms of them...and it makes it harder to express your feelings because a word such as 'weird' can have many different meaning. so yeh, it does mess everything up.

No, they're underused and that's what perpetuates religion. People need to use more words like : Science, reason, logic, evidence, skepticism, reality...

Well we would"nt get far without them on here !!! its good to talk!! and express ones own opinions , can"t do that with thought ?
