I did an extensive research on those electro conductive coating in my senior year's project last year. And silver, seems to be the non-hazard material to human when compare to lead, and nickel. There are other material non - hazard, but they don't conduct electricity as good as silver. Furthermore, a silver coating can also use as a shield from Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) (Statics from your cheap radio when a cell phone is place in its proximity). Try an electronics supply store. There are conductive paints and conductive tapes you can buy.
