First shampoo your hair. After shampooing, if your hair is very thick, squeeze out a little of the excess moisture using a towel. Apply a clear gel spray to protect from hairdryer heat and to give an amazing shine.
Now, start blowdrying at the front, because it's the most important bit of your hair. People generally start at the back, then get bored and tired by the time they reach the front - guess what, the hair underneath at the back where no-one can see it looks the best!
Use a bristle brush
Invest in a large, round, pure bristle brush - it will become your lifelong friend. If you feel the bristles are too hard and scratchy when you first buy it, soak the brush in hot soapy water - this will soften them. Also, every time you use your brush the bristles will soften until you wear it in like a new pair of shoes!
Air flow
When blowdrying your hair, make sure the air flows down the hair shaft in a straight line, directly the way the hair grows from the head. Otherwise, the shorter hairs will be blown around in different directions, making the end result fluffy.
Work from the hair roots to the ends, keeping an even tension to the end of the section. Continue until the hair is completely dry or it won't be straight. Do not over-dry the hair or it will become flyaway and dead-looking.
Work systematically through the hair: start at the front, then do the top, sides, crown, and finally the back.
The finished look
Finally, to keep the hair extra smooth, apply a small amount of defining gloss or serum. Rub it between your palms then run them through your hair. And there you have it - the finished result, without a curl or a wave in sight.
Good luck!

Okay I totally have that problem. What I did was I went to the salon and asked for a chemical straighten. (The price varies on length.) It took about 1 hr and 45 min, but it was TOTALLY worth it. I have straight hair now regardless of humidity. But you have to take care of it with smooth and sleek shampoos and conditioners. Good luck and I hope you get great results like I did. :):):)

It does take forever to flat iron your hair but the results are wonderful. Just yesterday I did my cousins hair whom is bi-racial and it took me 2 1/2 hours but she loved it. So, if you don't want to do it yourself ask a friend who has the time.

How about going to a pro, then 1. you don't have to do it yourself, 2. you could try the Japanese straightening system. Otherwise i recommend doing it yourself, using a heat protectant on your hair and blow drying it straight.
