What i did was after the first 6 months after baby and fed up with all the extra weight i was carrying was stayed under 1400 calories, kept myself moving whether it was cleaning obsessively like dishes vacuuming organizing anything that kept my heart racing and causing me to sweat did.
That was great cause i couldn't go out and exercise with baby unless it was just walking which ithat grew tiresome.
If your baby is on the floor crawling get your butt down there with her and crawl with her (play with her) it's quality and playtime for her also exercise for YOU!
If you start feeling hungry keep a journal and write down why you wanted to lose weight in first place and how that once piece of (insert favorite junk food) will set you back a weeks worth of dieting, so not worth it.
Everyone quits when they don't see rresults quick, but not everyone knows that your body is just getting used to the change in diet and added exercise before you know it 2 weeks goes by and finally the pounds just literallly melt off during the night it seems.
That kept me even more motivated after 3 months 60 pounds were gone would be more but i gained muscle also which i wanted to be toned.
Drink lots of water and treat yourself once in a while with a treat but use splenda instead od sugar taste the same.
Good luck I got back to my weight before i got pregnant plus 10 extra pounds i lost

I will try to keep it simple. Your metabolism is basically the rate at which your body burns calories to create energy. So the faster your metabolism, the faster you burn calories and the easier it is to lose unwanted weight. To boost your metabolism naturally you just need to eat the right foods.
You can sit down and literally eat a 1,000-calorie dinner and yet be absolutely starving just a few hours later and the reason is simple: Because your body didnt get what it needed in those 1,000 calories so it sends signals to your brain telling you to ingest more calories and thus, the late-night cravings. That means that the surest way to end those late-night cravings and keep your weight loss goals on track is to eat a more balanced, nutritious diet that actually gives your body what it needs.
It's VERY EASY to lose weight if you eat the right foods. Check out Dr. Charles Livingston's video here: http://www.sexyjese.com - it will blow your mind.

Assuming you only have short time periods for excerise, you'll need a quick fix before this gets out of hand - For one week, drink protein drinks every three hours like a person on Medifast - your nutritional needs will be met and your insulin won't spike. Read (ha, if you have time) that fad diet book Carbohydrates Addicts LifeSpan Program - it has some useful information overall, remember you don't need to do that diet, it is a very useful reference book about insulin, etc...During that week, plan what you should have with you when you're out and about with the baby, her/his food, and yours, plan your food and for all the situations that you have faced thus far. Then begin your program. Weigh yourself every morning, and write it down. This works. Take your usual supplements if any. And I sopose you could visit your doc but they don't know what you're up against.
