Um... that sucks. Here's a worse one.
April 1st 2005: 4:19 PM
The doorbell rings, I hear my Mom walking to the front door, it's a nice afternoon, and I had a great day, having pranked all of the idiots who constantly pick on me that day. I was feeling great. My Mom yells for my brother and I to come downstairs, we see a State Police Officer with her. He gives us the news.
My Dad was in a motorcycle accident, in the ER, on the brink of death. We got to the hospital as fast as we could, with our neighbor drivng us because my Mom was too upset to drive safely. We sat in the waiting room of the ER for hours, worrying about my Dad, and I couldn't stop crying. I finally get to see him, and there he is; Lying in bed without his shirt on, tons of wires and tubes stuck in him, unable to speak, with his eyes half open. It was the second worst day of my life, coming right behind the day my grandmother died.
Luckily, over the next several months, my Dad got better, into rehab, and eventually home. But that night is one I can never forget. I can never forget the sadness, the uncertainty of how it would all turn out, how my day went from great to horrible in ten seconds, and the horrifying image of my Dad, barely alive.
This site is a great place to tell others about your problems, but if you're going to, you should at least ask for help with them instead of just bitching about them. There are people much worse off than you.
