“A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the LORD your God." Deuteronomy 22:5

Abomination is the same word that god uses to describe homosexuals. So woman who wear pants are going to hell, right?

"Yes, I wear pants. However, I'm a Christian living under the New Covenant of Messiah and Deut. 22:5 doesn't pertain to me."

So did god change his mind of what is right and wrong?

"The passage refers to cross dressing, not wearing jeans."

Wearing jeans would have been cross dressing back in the day.

Good luck getting a sensible response to this. I know of no other teachings where the followers pick and choose which parts to follow.

Satan will have to set one more place at Hell's dinner table for me.

PS I am also a smart ***.

Yes, I wear pants. That verse mentions nothing about pants. You know even the men in those days wore skirts and robes. I buy my pants in the womens section at the store and it does not pertain to a man. That verse is dealing with transvestites anyways.

Uh, during the time of Deuteronomy no one wore pants. Wearing pants no longer identifies you as male, it is a style that is a-sexual. It's sometimes hard to take Scripture that was written to a specific culture thousands of years ago and try to apply it so rigidly to today's culture. To be honest I really can't tell you what the difference was between what men and women wore back then, they both look like dresses to me.

If we choose to live by one law, we must live by them all. Quite frankly I enjoy eating bacon and choose not to live by the old testament law. I choose to live in the freedom from that law because Jesus Christ died and rose again to fulfill that purpose. He left us two commandments...love God and love your neighbor.

I do not wear pants in public. I do in the privacy of my own home, and for those of you who want to argue and say what's the difference if the Bible says not to then you shouldn't do it...I say to you...Do you shower nude? Because the Bible says to cover your nakedness.
