I learned a new word today - agnostic. I'll not pretend to be any kind of smarty pants, I had no idea what the word meant, though I'd heard it before. I hopped on over to dictionary.com and wikipedia - what do ya know, that sounds kinda like how I feel. Does anyone here consider themselves an Agnostic Christian? Is there such a following? :)

Streetlight - I see what you are saying. I see how it could be difficult to so freely link agnostic with Christian. I have pondered whether I could be athiest or not, and I have determined, definitely no. I do believe in God, though it may not be the traditional idea that many think of. I believe in synchronicity - purposeful coincidences - and that they have something to do with our life purpose, and God. So definitely, I have too much faith in things that cannot yet be explained by science.

I suppose I would say, I am a Christian, who is open to the possibility that I could be wrong. :)

You sound similar to me. I put my faith in Christianity, I also realize many other people have faith in different religions and honestly believe they are experiencing God through them.

I realize my faith is my belief, hope and trust. The faith of others is the same to them. I also know there can be only one truth, and that is something no one can truly "know" or faith would not be required.

I'm a skeptical and I certainly go through periods of doubt. If you just use agnostic to say you cannot know, I do admit I cannot know. But I do not let that make me apathetic, as I actively implement bible wisdom and teaching in my life.

Interesting question... I would consider myself an Agnostic for lack of a better term, because I don't completely disregard the existence of a god, nor do I believe that there is a god, I simply believe that it can never be known whether or not there truly is a god, so perhaps I'm actually atheist. Now back to your question, I suppose that you couldn't technically be an Agnostic Christian, simply because being Christian implies that you believe in a god and more specifically Christ, and in most cases the holy trinity, and looking at the definition of Agnostic, it states that an Agnostic is "a person who holds that the existence of the ultimate cause, as God, and the essential nature of things are unknown and unknowable, or that human knowledge is limited to experience". This pretty much states that while an Agnostic does not believe in a god he or she also does not believe that there isn't a god, but rather that it can't be known. To you're part about feeling like the definition of an Agnostic, from experience with friends of Christian belief most Christians question their belief at some point or another, which is just in human nature. Perhaps in your case this is what's happening, or perhaps you truly are moving more towards the beliefs and mind set of an Agnostic and possibly even an Atheist. Hope that some of that helped in some way or another.

i think this is honest to declare that i'm culturally Christian, inasmuch as i'm much less culturally Islamic. this is a testomony to the flexibility that faith has held over us for thus long, and a stark reminder that it has poisoned us to a level it rather is totally almost impossible to fathom. I actively verify myself from using religiously steeped terminology, and attempt to undertake a cultural character that reflects my existence-long atheism.

I think EVERYONE is a little bit agnostic. Think about it: I am 99% sure there is a God, so I am partly Agnostic.
