pasteurized prevents you from getting diseases that might be more harmful than the hormones. if your really concerned you could look for milk from dairies that advertise no use of hormones in the making of their cows. or else you can get a goat. you don't have to pasteurize their milk to drink it. there is also soy milk (yuk) no hormones used there either.

There are alternatives to 'cows milk'. These include goats milk and there is also a vegetarian 'milk' made from soya. If you wish to avoid 'hormones' which are fed/injected into the cattle from whence comes your milk, try one or both of the above. Goats milk tastes exactly like cows milk and is usually free from 'hormones' or anything else which may be harmful.

You may also like to consider choosing carefully which cheeses you eat. If the hormones are in the milk, then they may also be in the butter and cheese.

In addition to all the 'hormones' injected into cattle, there is also to be considered the problem of anti-biotics which are also injected into cattle. Although this may keep the 'cow' healthy, it does nothing but harm to the science of overcoming disease in humans. We now have a situation where modern anti-biotics are becoming less and less effective in the defence against disease.

Look at it like this. There are anti-biotics for only 2% of all known bacteria. The other 98% of bacteria will kill us and there's no cure.

Please note that from about the age of 7 onwards, the human gut is unable to digest 'milk'. This is when the human being is fully weened - in other words, the latest year in which a child eats solids.

commercial milk is nasty. First, the cows are fed an unnatural diet consisting of pesticide laden grains, and the ground up brains and organ meats of their dead ancestors. Due to deplorable living conditions, they are routinely given antibiotics. They are given growth hormones and steroids to increase their fat content and milk output. Pasturization kills off what little nutritional value is there, so it is added back in synthetically. Vitamin D in milk is a steroid. Often, pus and blood end up in the milk-this is processed into chocolate milk to mask the color of the blood. Raw milk, from a pampered cow is a delight. The cream can be churned into lovely raw butter, free of all the nasty stuff. Raw milk is usually available from local food co ops or dairies.

My personal experience is that the pasteurization kills harmful bacteria in juices and milk. I have heard of people becoming very ill after drinking juices and milk that were not pasteurized.
That being said, my son is not able to drink milk that contains the HGH growth hormone. We purchase our milk from a local dairy because most, if not all, milk you can purchase in stores contains the hormone.
Good Luck!

Before they started heat treating milk it was one of the biggest causes of TB in humans. So in that respect yes.

Hormones are just proteins, above 60 degrees most denature and do not fullfil their original role. You can seen the same thing when you fry an egg. The white is almost pure protein and changes from clear liquid to white solid. One pasteurised, sterilised or once UHT have been carried out its unlikely that growth hormones from cattle would affect you.

Untreated milk risks you contracting among other things Bovine TB, which was why milk was pasteurised in the first place.
Science is wonderful but has always been a double edged sword. I have to believe the experts are right, and thus I intend to keep going and Drinka Pinta Milka day as the adverts once said.

all Pasteurization does is to heat the milk so that it kills the bacteria and diseases in it. that doesn't add anything to the milk. and homogenizing the milk is simply making sure the fat doesn't separate from the rest of the milk, by in essence filtering it very high pressure and high speeds.

i don't know much about the growth hormones. I'm sure their not great for us, but that's for the FDA to decide.

Actually, it is best to make sure that protein sources are sterile for the following reason: Microbes that feed on protein may not care if the protein comes from milk or human tissue. That is why protein eating bacteria such as salmonella and clostridium botulinum are so lethal.

Therefore, I recommend making sure that your milk is pasturized.

the milk itself is very good for you, its the remains of the sh!t they feed the cows still in the milk that can be harmful.

to be honest i think a lot of it is scare mongering by animal rights people and vegans. you would need to drink a lot of milk for the traces of anything to do any harm.
