Hi, believe it or not, he can eat dry food. When many cats eat, they don't chew, they simply swallow the kibble whole. I have seen cats with NO teeth eat dry food just fine. If your cat is reluctant to eat dry food, you need to have a vet check his remaining teeth to make sure they aren't causing him pain. If he has lost that many teeth it is very likely he has some dental disease and/or gingivitis going on.
Good luck!

I have a 20 year old cat that just keeps going... She cannot eat hard food either so I have had to go to canned (Science Diet KD formula). I'd look for the most natural bland stuff you can find as it will be easier on his old body. Don't give up if he does not like the first brand you buy or gets diarrhea. My cat hated any can with rice and the change in food messed with her bowels.
At his age, you may want to take him to the the vet and make sure he doesn't need special food due to kidney malfunctions, etc. and make sure he doesn't have any mouth infections which led to the loss of his teeth...he is old and could be in some pain if he is not eating.
I am sorry for you and your cat. Old is not easy for either one of you. Try the canned soft food and think of taking the cat to a vet..

Continue giving him the wet food and try mixing small amounts of dry food in with it. Speak to your vet about what he reccomends. I had a 20 year old cat with only 2 teeth, but he still managed to eat!

Well, if you haven't already, try some other brands of wet food. There are some pretty expensive (meaing the cat is bound to like one) brands out there. You could always try mixing in a little tuna with the wet food... my cats go nuts over real tuna.

Cats can still eat crunchies without any teeth. I have one who has only two small teeth and she still eats crunchies. If he IS having problems with them try pouring a little hot water on the food to soften it up.

My cat is old too, and she cant have dry food anymore. You said can foods werent working, have you tried fish? Or there's Fancy Feast and my cat seems to like it....+ it has different combinations so if your cat doesnt like one try another.
