Sorry, but Christmas is only religious for some...it is been fully integrated even by the non-religious as just another commercialized holiday - like Thanksgiving but with presents.
So Christmas is not necessarily a religious holiday (it is not for me)...but Easter is a religious holiday. For the non-religious, letting the kids hunt easter eggs (on Sunday) does not require a full day paid vacation day.

Because most people (even Atheists and other religions) observe some form of Christmas, but not everyone observes Easter. Also Easter falls on a weekend when many people don't work anyway, so would you expect to be paid for an additional day for a Sunday holiday or get a non-Easter day off from work?

I think you need to make a call to the labor board. You are very right, both are religious holidays and it sounds like the Christmas spirit has flown out the window when it comes to your boss. Even if it's a religious holiday, they still have to pay you for it. Make the call to the labor board and they should be able to help you on that matter.
Both Easter and Christmas are celebrated all over the world as religious holidays and I think the the world is better in tune with it than any one company or person.

No...it does not make sense. I have never thought about nor heard anyone talk about it. Good point!! They both are religious holidays....I read some answers about it's always on Sunday, do work on Sundays? That doesn't matter because @ my job if Christmas falls on a weekend we get either that Friday or that Monday off depending on if it fell on Saturday or Sunday plus we get paid for the day off....I think same should apply to Easter, I am going to ask about that...Good question!!

Christmas is so not a religious holiday anymore!! For that matter neither is Easter it's all about candy and bunnies and eggs. Isn't Easter always on a Sunday anyway? Oh do you work somewhere that's open on sundays? That's why I don't get paid for easter.

Easter falls on a Sunday every year. Most companies give you a paid day off for Christmas (even if it's on a weekend), because it varies from year to year.

Eh...I guess Christmas has been so commericalized that people don't consider it a religious holiday anymore. If you work on Easter, you get time and a half so that's something. Some people don't get paid on holidays period so, I'd take it with a grain of salt.

I can see why you get paid for Christmas and not Easter - coz Christmas is a big celebration and blah blah blah...
But they shouldn't tell you that they don't pay your for Easter coz it's a religious holiday coz that really doesn't make sense! :-)
