It seems all I hear about Lexapro and other SSRI's is sexual side-effects, anorgasmia, etc! I just started taking Lexapro. Does EVERYONE have sexual side-effects? It would make me feel better to hear from anyone who has taken Lexapro without sexual side-effects... Anyone out there? Thanks much!

I'm currently taking Lexapro. Prior to taking it, I had a "decrease in libido"...most likely due to depression. However, I have found that since I feel better on Lexapro, it actually helps my sex life. However, you and your partner have to be willing to work at it when you start out on Lexapro, as your body will need to get used to different things.

I took Lexapro about a year ago and I did not have any sexual side effects. I was just put on Effexor 2 weeks ago and it's too soon to tell. Everyone is different, but I have heard Lexapro is one that is less likely to have those side effects. Good Luck

I took Lexapro, but only for a short period because it made me SO horribly sick. I didn't have sexual side effects, though.

side effects go both ways with this drug and most all others--the good news is a very close freind of mine is on lexapro and he loves what it has done for his sex life--it seems to make alot of guys hold out longer--good luck

I never had sexual side effects from it. Actually that was one of the few meds I tried that didn't affect me. I wish you the best...everyone is different and i'm sure there is a possibility that you could have some. Worst case tell your dr and perphas they can switch you to something else or increase your testoterone lvls another way.
