I don't think there is any "Tourist Visa" in Saudi Arabia.
You can get a Visit Visa if you have relatives with a Residence Permit.
Heres a page with different types of visas available and their requirements.
http://www.saudiembassy.net/Travel/VisaIntro.asp
You *might* get a transit visa, then you will be able to see the city at least.
If your company has a branch in Saudi Arabia, maybe you can ask about a Business visit visa? I don't have much knowledge about how it works...
For the above mentioned visas, it doesn't matter whether you're Muslim or not (they just don't allow Israelis).
But a Muslim person can easily get an 'Umrah visa, but its only valid for travel in Jeddah, Makkah, and Madinah. And it has to be with a certified Umrah group too...

i do no longer think of so, commonly Saudi Visas are valid for 3 months. as quickly as you get there then you certainly can stay for 60 days, yet on your case i think of that's merely too previous due taking in attention that your visa replaced into issued on january 2011. good success !

If you are not Muslim there is little to see I guess because the holy cities are closed to non-Muslims.
The rest is dessert and oasis. It is however beautiful to see the landscape when you see nice green stuff surrounded by dessert.
It is very difficult to get there, probably never as a tourist though. Been there on business trip and even getting that arranged was nearly a nightmare in which you can only be represented by a local company that asks or "sponsors" your business visa.
As for your plane tickets, have them in the standard (traditional) issue. The so called e-tickets are looked as very suspicious and many times the immigration and custom officials do not even know that it is a real ticket (yeah, go figure!).
Crossing the borders is nearly like crossing Checkpoint Charlie in the times of the cold war. And by all means, do NOT attempt to introduce even the slightest amount (or mini bottle) of alcohol to SA unless you want to end up in jail, being a westerner is no excuse.
And be careful where you point your camera. It is not advisable to photograph women in their dress, or to talk to them. It is also prohibited to photograph oil installations such as refineries and pipelines. The only time I felt like this before was when I visited East Berlin before they broke free.
Despite of what the posting might lead you to think, going there once was an interesting experience. And sure, given the opportunity to go there on business again I would, people are very nice.

There is a tourist visa for Muslims to pilgrimage holy Mosques in Makkah and Madeena, as Umra/Hajj visa.
You have got web addresses in above answers, just I'll tell you that if you have close relative in KSA, on his sponsorship, you can get a visit visa for 2 months than extend able two times more for 2+2 months, total 6 months.
There is almost 180 riyals fee for extension of visa only.

No chance. I have been a resident here for 5 years and we were not even able to get visas for our own direct family. But hey, if you feel positive go to the Saudi embassy or consulate and ask them... You're a guy so at least they'll let you in. At the embassy in Pretoria they always let me and my mom in at a back entrance for visa collection... so why would you even like to come here anyway... its not fun... There isn't anything to do. Al you see is black and white...!!
