Hi people,

Last time I went to Hong Kong was in the year of 2000. I bought many consumer electronics gadget from a residential building in MongKok. All the shops in this building sell consumer electronics directly imported from Japan (not Made in China etc...)

Are these shops still there? Are they still sell Made in Japan products?

Yes they are still there, but i don't think they still sell made in Japan product, due to competition they simply cannot sell much more expensive good. BTW if you want to get made in japan consumer good why don't you travel to Japan or buy them on line.

Shopping in Hong Kong is the same as anywhere else. Should you want to buy electronics, do your homework. Know the models and the prices. You’ll be able to tell anyone trying to convince you to spend more to get stuffed.

Here’s a tip for those looking for cameras: visit Stanley Street in Central, where local photographers shop for their gear.
