$170K for 1000 sqft? That is 1.1 MILLION in Manhattan. So yes, New York City is very expensive, but not the entire state. I think CT would be more expensive over the entire state.

NY & this whole metropolitan area - (DE - NY & all in between.) I live in philly burbs and paid 170K for a 1000sq ft house....that's alot of money for a tiny house (w/ no drive way)
CA & HI are pretty pricey, too
