How much did or are you spending on your wedding?

I got married 14 months ago.

We spent roughly $20,000 all together. That includes both sides of the family and all. Even the bridesmaids dresses and the grooms tuxes.

But you are not obligated to spend a certain amount. Whatever you and your future hubby feel comfortable with spending, go for it.

Just beware of the "But this is the biggest day of my life, I just have to have that!" That gets you in debt. I had to do away with some things I 'had to have' and that kept us from using credit cards and the like. So now we have a life after the wedding!

CONGRATS!

I do not even know...we were fortunate to have both families contributing money for our big day. My husband made our wedding cake because he is a pastry chef so that cut out $1500 right there. We also got married at a church that had a lovely reception hall attached to it so that eliminated the need for a limo. We spent the most money on the food because we wanted our guests to be happy and eat heartily.

Depends on the wedding you want. My daughter got married in Sept 06 and we spend about 5,000 for everything and my son is marrying April 7, 2007 and the reception is 5,000 alone and the bride's parents, we the grooms parents and the bride and groom are all paying.

$35K. I thought that was a lot, but apparently it's just the "average" for wedding in Dallas, TX. I'm originally from New York and I believe the "average" there is $45K and up. YOWZA!!!!!!

Invite your friends to a round of drinks at the local bar and save your hard-earned money for a condo downpayment or just your first months of life together. Seriously.
