What's the best way to cure this- being shy/nervous around women?

Here is the best answer if you are nervous because you don't know what to say. (I used to have a buddy who would get gassy around women. No joke, his stomach would start feeling tight and then he'd just start passing the SBD's. - I can't help if your problem is the latter.)

Step 1: Go somewhere that you'll never go again and just go up to hot girls and start talking. It really doesn't matter what you say at all. Just say something like "Hi, my name is (blah), I think ur cute. Can I call you sometime?" You need to have about 2 statements then a question. Trust me, it won't work. She'll probably look at her friends and laugh at you right in front of your face, or she'll call you a freak or something. It doesn't matter. Then say very respectfully, "thank you for your time."
Step 2: Repeat step 1 about 5 -10 times at several different places over the next couple weeks. It will most likely never work. But, here's the deal, you will get so much more comfortable about approaching women because you learned (over time) what their various reactions will be.
And if you want to battle, you must know the enemy.

I'm pretty much the same way around women. I have a girlfriend now but when I was single I always had a hard time talking to women because I'm so shy. The best advice I can give is to have an outgoing, single friend with you when you talk to a girl. If you see someone you're interested in, go up to her with your friend and have him start talking to her and letting him talk about you for you.

An example is when I was single I saw this girl that I was interested in but I had no idea what to say to her. My friend and I went up and introduced ourselves and he basically carried the conversation. He gave little bits of information about me to her to get her interested. After a few minutes, I felt comfortable enough to start talking to her myself and it just went from there. I know it's hard to talk to women sometimes but it helps if you have a friend and just be yourself!

Go talk to more women, go spend more time with the women you know, go do things with your life to make you more confident like work-out and learn interesting stuff like how to play guitar or karate. The more you are happier with yourself the more confident you will be.

dont be afraid to look at them or tell them they are beautiful. i mean if you look at them, they are beautiful. nothing is wrong with beauty. if you can tell her that and she can tell by your voice that you mean it in a nice way, she'll appreciate it. don't rush into things though and don't say things to make women uncomfortable
