my mum and dad split up when i was 11 i had no contact with my dad untill 4 years ago my kids dont know who he is and he never sends them birthday cards do you think i should just forget about him he dosent even ask how my kids are when i phone him im pissed of with him

My husband and I have been going through the same thing with his dad. He's tried to be close to him for near 20 years. We have tried and tried to include him in our kid's lives. There comes a time when you have to take a pause and realize that you have done all that you can do and they just don't want to be a part of your life. He's the one missing out. We tried a test to see if we did not call him, how long would it take him to care enough to call us, and he has called twice in 10 years and both times were to ask for money. It' s a great test to see where you stand with him.

Have you told him how you feel?
If he doesn't know your children then he will have no emotional attachments to them.
If they have never met and you are comfortable with it, have a family gathering where he will meet everyone.
Men are visual and maybe this is a step that he will need for an understanding that he was blessed with grandchildren and want to be more a part of ya'lls life.
I'm not taking up for his actions,just giving a suggestion.
