I like the sound of a puppie. Its mum is Labrabor cross german shepard and the dad is Husky, do you think the puppie would look cute or strange?
Thank you for answering my question.

all puppies are cute but with this one - behavior wise, you dont know what you are going to get. (as with all mutts)
Shepards = herding/guarding - active, requires mental stimulation or will be bored and destructive
Labs = retreiving, love game playing
Husky = VERY Active, require ALOT of running or will become restless and destructive, known for hating cats.
SOooo if this is a dog you are considering getting I will make 2 points,
Firstly it is a MUTT so unless it is vaccinated, dewormed and has a vet check it is worth $0
Seondly unless you are prepared to keep this dog busy with long walks/runs and provide active mental stimulation for it (give it a job) do not get it.

Your puppy's mum is Labrador cross[BIG and likes the cold open air same as a German Shepherd] Dad is a husky also likes the fresh open air....WOW..what a mixture your puppy would look cute and strange. Give it all the love and attention that you can...it might be a little different when it grows up. My dog is a cross...German shepherd/smooth collie. He has thick bushy fur on back and shoulders just like a german shepherd..the rest of his body is like a collie. his head is small with light brown colour and floppy ears. When he was a puppy he used to jump on my lap and lick me. When he got older the strength in his shoulders is terrific...he snapped two leads just by pulling..and of course he's very agile.

Yes, it would as dogs who 'dabble' in different breeds often look cute AND they often do not get the health problems associated the that breed. But please remember that the breeds the puppy is crossed with are working breeds and the puppy will need lots of exercise and will probably grow quite big depending on which breed comes out strongest. (So if the lab is the strong breed it will look mostly like a lab it some characteristics of the other two etc) Good luck with your puppy I wish you the best :o)

What the hell are the owners thinking?
Rescue centres are full of crossbreeds and they want to breed more?
Get them to get him neutered and her spayed ASAP.
As for the puppy it will be cute but need a lot of exercise.Get it spayed/neutered too.

Well... I wouldn't be concerned about how cute the puppy is. Any puppy is going to be cute. You have to think about what happens when it grows up. A German Shepard and Husky mix is going to be a MASSIVE shedder. That means monthly visits to the groomer or buying the appropriate tools and do it yourself (which I don't recommend). You're also going to have a dog who is going to be territorial and is going to want to defend it's level in the pact, as well as it's home. If you properly establish dominance, then they'll be protective over you. Which means they're going to get defensive around people who pose a threat to you, they're going to want to establish dominance with new people who enter their house and they're not going to take well to other dogs in their area (house/yard). You're looking at a dog who is going to need some hardcore training as far as interaction is concerned. You're also going to have a canine who is going to want to bark at new people, people who come in the door, little critters who enter THEIR yard (and don't think for one second it isn't their yard) and things like that. You're also going to have a very hyper puppy who will most likely NOT grow out of it. I have a 10 year old German Shepard who still acts like he's a pup. You're combining that with a Lab who is, by nature, a fairly hyper breed. Again... There are a lot of things you're going to have consider with this mix of breed that have absolutely nothing to do with appearance. I'd suggest seriously considering if you're ready for that big of a responsibility.

It's hard to tell - depends what characteristics it inherits from its parents, but I think it would probably look rather nice - I'd guess lab size, with a thick coat and pricked ears.
