Drinkin' energy drinks can be harmful if drank in excess or mixed with alcohol. Energy drinks are mostly made up of caffine and vitamins that boosts your energy levels. But this doesn't rehydrate your body but makes you dehydrated. The caffine and the dehydratin effects make energy drinks really not that safe for anyone, including prgnant women. If you are goin to drink them read the label and DON'T drink more then what it recommends on the label. It could led to some serious health problems.

That's a lot of caffiene. Everything a pregnant mother eats and drinks goes to the baby. That much caffiene can increase your heart rate, and that's not good for such a tiny heart. Also, I noticed that about twenty minutes after a caffinated soda when I was pregnant, the kicking would go into overdrive, and that's tough when you want some rest. (And she always knew when I was trying to nap!) If she really wants the vitamins, there are yummy vitamin waters out now that are fruit flavored. Also, be careful of *anything* that has echinacea in it! It is an abortive and can start contractions!

Oh lord please say no one is really doing this! No it's not ok! Energy drinks make you heart race and are full of things that are not good for you. Your heart racing means your baby's heart is ready to explode! If this is you stop right now! You are putting your baby through an enormous amount of stress. Not to mention when prego. you should be doing everything healthy for your body . . . the sugar alone is crazy! And on top of that, many of these have herbs that are good for you but to a point can be fatal for a baby. Everything that goes into you goes into your baby. This includes when your are nursing . . alcohol and caffine will go directly into your baby. My advise as well as any doctors is going to be stop immediately!

no. drink only water or fresh fruit juice. you can have a limited amount of caffeine, but only from coffee or tea - the energy drinks contain a lot of junk that is not good for the average person, much less a pregnant woman or developing fetus.

Most energy drinks are carbonated drinks that contain large amounts of caffeine and sugar with additional ingredients.......The caffeine in energy drinks acts as a diuretic and promotes dehydration........and too much sugar for pregnant ladies is not good it can coucl lead to incrweasing sugar levels......and some of the additional ingredients are not safe!......so its best for you if you aiod drinking it! even you and the pregnant lady!

No. Avoid these drinks while pregnant or breast feeding. Not only is the caffeine and sugar bad for you but they also contain herbs that may be harmful.

Extra doses of caffeine are not healthy. Especially for a fetus. A better place to ask this question would be your Ob/Gyn.
