Views of the Chrysler building - where are the best places?

Question

My husband and I would like to stay at a hotel with really fabulous views of this building. Also, maybe a restaurant or bar with views? We are not looking to pinch pennies here. Thanks for any suggestions.

I have stayed all over NYC, Waldorf included, the best views of NYC including the Chrysler are at the Millennium UN Plaza Hotel. I stayed there over last Christmas, unbelievable views. Rooms start at about the 28th floor and go up to around 35th, with a pool on the 27th, I believe, also with great views of the city. Ask for a corner room, I had views of the East River, the UN, Empire State and the Chrysler, which was so close, it lit up my room at night. A great hotel.

There are numerous Hotels in the area, however the best view of the Chrysler building is from the top of the Empire State building. Go to the Empire State Building at dusk or early evening. The view when the sun is going down is spectacular.

i read many picture books, my favorite one is about the chrysler building. try that. you could borrow it from me if you cant find one.
