A little of both. I believe there is a reason each one of us is here on earth and we are supposed to meet certain people that help us with parts of our journey.

I enjoy the answers that profess that people pick and choose and have free will. Which, of course, has nothing to do with fate. We are all governed by fate whether we like it not. Fate is simply, what is going to happen is going to happen.

Example: You get in your car and 2 blocks from your house you have an accident. Was this fate? Of course it was. You could have chosen to leave a little earlier or a little later and you wouldn't have been in that place, at that time. You could driven just a little bit slower, but you didn't.

If my fate is that I am going to trip and fall down the stairs today, there is nothing that I can do about it. Why? Because I don't know it is going to happen.

There were people that were late going to work at the World Trade Center on 9/11. Did they know that the attacks were going to happen? Of course not. But "fate" did happen for them and they did not chose that fate. It was just the way it was. And what about the people that missed their flights that day and were saved because they didn't make it in time. Their choice was to make it in time, wasn't it? So if fate is governed by choice, then they would not have been late, right? And they would have been dead.

Fate is not about what we chose to do or not chose to do, it is there no matter what.

I believe in predestination.

You are predestined to a way of life and to a salvation or not.
I think you make the small decisions, the big ones are made for you.
Why? Because I've seen it in my own life. You follow the course set out for you. In my case, I was blessed.
I see it clearly as I speak with other people.

Acts 4:28 to do whatever Thy hand and Thy purpose predestined to occur.
Rom 8:29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among many brethren;
Rom 8:30 and whom He predestined, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
1 Cor 2:7 but we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom, which God predestined before the ages to our glory;
Eph 1:5 He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,
Eph 1:11 also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will,

Believe it or not.

A Chinese calls his nervous system as shenjing or God's bible. This is some equivalent or coincidence to the breath of God into that Adam that turned him into a living soul. So some basic fate seems to be programmed in each of us through this shenjing. But we have free will or freedom to choose what kind of life we want to have. If we fail, then we are subject to the program prepared for us.

If anyone who follows the strict teaching about predestination, that shows God has already predetermined who is to go to heaven and who is to go to hell. It is difficult to find this out unless you purposely choose to go against God but then this is not possible as your life is already predetermined.

I believe that we create our future...everything is a result of a series of events, whether they be positive or negative.

I believe in fate but it's driven by your own creative visualization skills and subconscious.
