A theory is a logically self-consistent model or framework for describing the behavior of a related set of natural or social phenomena. It is not a guess. A theory is supported by evidence and experimentation and is put forth in an attempt to explain something for which the truth about is unknown. Evolution is the frontrunning theory for this particular phenomena. Whether or not you believe it doesn't change whether or not it is true. There are certainly no other theories I've heard that have even come close to offering a reasonable explanation to our existence. Religion certainly hasn't presented any substantial rationalizations on this subject. Sure evolution may have holes, but, religion is a hole.

99% of the "holes" creationists use not at all holes in the theory. Instead they are usually based on a lack of understanding of the science behind evolution. The "why are there still monkeys" question is the best example of this.

Evolution is one of our most strongly-supported scientific theories, while Genesis creation is not even a hypothesis (that might become a theory if evidence accumulates to support it). It is just fantasy...like the holes you imagine are in Evolution. I can list many contradictions and examples of childish scientific knowledge in the Bible, but Evolution is essentially correct. There are still details to be worked out, but that does not disprove anything about it. There are no holes really...except in your knowledge of it. Study it more, and you will see it is correct.

If you mean the whole humans from monkeys thing, then yes there are a few holes, but I'm not sure if there are as many as in swiss cheese.
Edit: ooh, Metallic, that is my 23 birthday...nice one.

By claiming that, you are screaming out as loud as you can that you don't know anything about evolution, and are instead the victim of a political war started by the same type (and religion) of extremist religious zealots who tried to claim the Earth was flat.

It's basically a waste of time to make statements like 'evolution is like cheese' without offering some sort of evidence to back yourself up.

So you fail. At life.

Whereas creationist theory has more in common with bleu cheese - old, crumbling, and stinky.
