Why do you want to change. They essantially the same programme with some extras added to XP pro which the Home edition dont get. I beileve the XP Pro was aimed at the business community and some say a little more robust. Keep it.

Why would you want to do that? Well I never tried it but I think you can try to install windows xp home edition on top of windows xp professional. its like downgrading but i am not sure. Its always better to backup your files before doing any such OS related installations.

Yes. But it is not easy. The main thing is to keep the installation program from formatting your drive. If I were you, I'd make a complete backup of all my files, just in case. Your files on D: won't be touched, but the C: drive can be obliterated.

Why would you ever want too? Professional just has more features. Nothing less.
