Hi Eric...

A good used Full Size truck I would definately recommend is the F150 hands down. There's a reason it's the #1 selling truck in the country, and the world for that matter. Reliability is great for it's segment, insurance is low, parts are easy to find.

Because of current gas prices, trucks and SUV's have been hit hard and it's not uncommon to find some good deals out there, just takes awhile to find.

I recommend the F-150 with the 4.6L or 5.4L V8. The standard 4.2 V6 isn't much of a performer or fuel saver in any way makign it redundant next to the 4.6L V8. And the V8's have much better reliability and serviceability as well.

For around $10-14K I'm guessing a previous generation 2002-2003 which were good. Although, new F-150 range anywhere from $21K for a stripped down work-horse version, to the very luxurious $35+ Lariat/King Ranch versions...there's some SuperDuties which top around $50K fully optioned.

So you could find yourself with a new generation 2004 stripped for maybe the price range your looking for, OR, a previous generation maybe around the 2001-2003 mark thats a bit more optioned out.

Not sure why it must be full-size, but the compact Ranger is also a good buy, and even if your hauling with it, it's one of much more stronger one's in it's segment and you could get by with that. I suggest the 4.0L V6 hands down.

Hope this helps.... :-)

Depends. Toyota has the best resell value. But I would go with a Ford.

I have a fullsize tundra and it's awesome, but it's going to be hard finding any truck in that price range....unless it's a really older year.
