Don't know why he doesn't like me. But after two years and we are still together, I feel obligated. I really am an okay person and I'd like it if we at least got along.

In this case, I wouldn't feel obligated. If you've done your best to get along with him and after this long it hasn't happened, I wouldn't worry. It's something with him, not you. For example: the relationship I'm in, I got into a "tiff" with a bar owner whom my bf's band plays for, I was the bigger person and tried to make things right; actually twice and with both owners. One of them is ok for the most part, the other is not and this happened in the beginning of October. Since you've done your part, leave it at that and continue what you've been doing =)

maybe he is jealous of his brother, your boyfriend...
or perhaps he is just a miserable person.
whatever the case, you can't change the way another person feels. he might come around given time. i'm sure you'd like it if he would try to get along with you, but sometimes that isn't possible.
just go on with your life, and don't worry about it. it's not worth the effort.

If he will never allow you an opportunity to have a private talk with him, then sit down with him and your boyfriend and just talk. Let him know that you are willing to try to at least be civil, if not friends. I'm sure this is awkward for you. He may not be open to friendship, but at least let him know that you are willing to try. That's all you can do.
