10,000! I have been wearing a pedometer and Have only been hitting an average of 5k so I'm setting a goal for 7-8 and working up from there as to not put strain on my body or risking an injury. see where your at first then work up from there

10,000 steps a day is supposed to help you maintain your health. This, of course, is for people who tend not to be active otherwise. So if you are active and get adequate exercise, which for most of us is difficult to determine outside of weight management, you may not need to take extra steps, but it won't hurt, if you are otherwise healthy.
