I have just boiled potatoes in my aluminum wear ever pot and it turned black. What could have caused this?

Boiling potatoes in an aluminum pot does cause potatoes to turn black. It is a chemical reaction. There is an acidity base to potatoes that reacts with the aluminum. It corrodes the aluminum.

Aluminum pots do that to potatoes. Better use another pot!
