Welcome .
It would probably be better for you to move first.
Then move the rest of the family after you get
settled in.
Otherwise your family will be alone without you in
a challenging environment.
Have a pleasant day and good luck.

Dear Frado,
You are the head of the family, so you move to the USA first, get the new job arranged, then the family home sorted out, get all the legalities completed and get yourself settled, important. Legally moving/transferring from one country to another is stressful, expensive and time consuming, there is a lot of adjusting to a new culture, different ways of doing things, time zone changes etc, I just dont know how people cope with being of an illegal status when the legal move is so tiring. Once you are settled in, move your family to your new comfortable happy family home and live your American dreams. Good luck to all of you.

Send the kid, we need more slave labor, sorry. Sounds like you have not done your homework on visas here.
Where are you going to work and stay.
You need money when you get here, and to stay here. Once your visa expires what are you going to do? Become an Illegal?
Think you need to do some more research on what your doing.
It nice to see someone that took the time to apply to come here legal, but did you get a work visa? or just a travel visa? With a travel visa you still will need to apply for a work visa, and you can not do that here, you will run out of time on the travel visa first.

There will be papers to sign, accounts to be opened and other legalities that may require both of you to be present. I would consider going at the same time in order to alleviate frustration and possible culture shock. If you simply cannot manage to move at the same time, I would say it depends entirely on 1) how well your family understands & speaks English and 2) how comfortable either of you are setting up house without the other. If you are relocating with your company, check with your relocation agent.

It depends on your situation and where you plan to move to.
If you have no loose ends, which can't be handled there, by your wife, then you go first.
If your wife has employment and a place them she should go first. It also depends on your destination.
I suspect that there are people who prey on immigrants, just waiting to give bad advice.
If you have a visa then you have an occupation.
Contact some support group within them.

There is no perfect plan. I don't know why you don't want to move all at once. If you must send someone first, choose the one with the best command of the English language. It will help to transition in more easily.

there is a time limit that you can move over here, if you have a good job wherever you are why migrate to the us, there is a million people behind the line that will be willing to take your place..... just stay where you are enjoy your job and let somebody else enjoy moving and migrating here. give the chance to others it does seems that you don't like to quit your good job in your country and moving to the us to start all over again will be hard for you because you will always think that you lose a better job in the place where you are now.. JUST STAY WHERE YOU ARE, NOBODY WILL MISS YOU IN THE USA AND YOU WILL MAKE SOMEBODY ELSE HAPPY TO STEP ON YOUR PLACE.

It is reasonable to send your wife and son here first, as longs as one of the can speak and read english. Then as soon as you can join them here.

I think there are sometimes time limits in which you need to move and you had better check with an official source.

Do it any way you like. Just don't let the visas lapse for ones that stay behind. There's no way to extend them.
