well, crying although people have it as a bad thing....specially for boys it is good and cleans your emotions. You might be feel a bit depressed should eat more veggies and fruits to keep you a bit more healthy and from falling into depression.

Some women feel sad during their periods, some before and some after but are rare cases.

In my book crying is good and should be practiced more often by all but although I feel this way I don't ever cry unless I watch a movie. It's weird I guess with the right concept, the music and the drama involved I can get into a softy mood, unlike in real life.....can only remember crying for a week when my Mom died but before that had to be really drugged or drunk before crying........I have not used any of those drugs for almost 9 years and have not drunk enough to make me feel that way for almost 6 years now too, If my Mom had not died last year I would be on my 6th year not crying other than in the movies.

In your case I really don't think is mental.......most likely something that may be affecting you emotionaly now happened a few weeks back and you have just with holding it!

If it becomes a bigger concern tell your parents and go to a doctor, on the mean time, don't panic is all good!!

Even if a doctor were to answer this, they could not know for sure. There are many other things that you have not said, life if you are on any medications or having any family or social issues that may not seem related but certainly could be.
I am sure you do not have a "mental problem", but you may be experiencing a temporary emotional problem. There are a million changes going on in your body/chemistry at this time in your life, and it is likely this is just a short depression brought on my some of those changes.
There is also a possibility that this is a symptom of something more serious. You should really try to find someone close that you can talk to about these feelings and crying spells. It sounds like a cliche' but you really should find someone (family, teacher, school nurse, coach...), preferably a trusted, mature adult, to get a better handle on this before it really disrupts your life.

The answer can be summed up in one word: hormones. As your body is going through the changes caused by puberty, your hormones can get thrown way out of whack. This is as true for boys as it is for girls, and the affects of this can be different for everyone, and some people may notice no affects at all.
That's probably all it is, but keep paying attention. It shouldn't go on past the age of fifteen. Also, if you notice any other signs that something else may be wrong, you may want to talk about them with a parent, school counselor or doctor.

Ash,
I remember being 14, and I felt awful all the time. Nobody understood what I was going through and everyone was out to get me!! Like you, I felt like crying all the time, but don't worry...you will grow out of it (or it will get better) I'm sure it is just hormones. My suggestion is to write in a journal when you are really upset, it may help to rationalize your thoughts. Good luck!

I think this is normal. Hormones are the reason and you are still growing, all this is part of it. I recommend you to talk to somebody, (there are hot lines for teenagers), so you can be more relieved and talk anonymously about what is concerning you. If you have a good relationship with your parents talk to them. They probably went thru the same, your age. Good Luck.

s I think it normal :o) ... All those hormones are beginning to take hold . ... If it only happens certain times of the month I wouldn't be overly concerned. If it linger day after day, week after week, month after month then you need to get professional help for the problem... Hang in there your just starting to really become a Woman...

You have not given enough information to make a good decision as to what is going on. Is there a counselor in your school? If so, go see them. The worst thing you can do is hold it in and hide it. Doing so will cause you to feel worse. Reach out.
