Hi,

I just lost 65 pounds and am wondering if I should lose more or not. I am 23 years old, 5 foot 4, 136 pounds and my measurements are 36-29-36. Do you think I should try to lose more or am I ok now? Most of my weight is in my bust. I wear a size 34 DD. For some reason when I lost the weight I didn't lose any in my bust. What do you think the ideal measurements are for a women?

Maybe just 6 more pounds. The ideal measurements are with the waist to hip ratio of 70%. So it doesn't matter the exact size as long as the ratio is there. So if your hips stay the same and you lose from your waist. Your waist would be about 25.3 inches to bring your ratio to 70%. This shouldn't take very long. About 6 pounds should do it. Of course you could simutaneously add some curves to your hips. Which will bring your ratio to 70% faster. Your ratio is currently 29/36 or 80%.

First Congrads!

If you have a small frame (you're fingers overlap around your wrist) you are slightly overweight (by a few lbs - meaning 3-7). To keep the weight off, and if you want, lose a few more - keep up what you are doing, its working (hopefully not too fast). Remember, once people are down to ideal, they forget to eat right and exercise, which is why they gain the weight (plus some) back.

Ideal measurements for a supermodel are 33-23-33, but remember most of these models are extremely unhealthy, straving themselves and such. A BETTER way of looking at it is a Hip-waist ratio - healthy is between .65 and .8, ideal is said to be around .7. Anywhere in healthy is good though.

(Ex 29 waist with 36 hips would give a ratio of .81)

Congratulations on your weight loss, no I don't think you should lose more weight unless you really feel it is necessary. Your measurements sound good to me and remember you can't spot reduce specific areas.

They used to say the ideal measurements were 36-24-36, but how many women would actually be able to achieve that? Very few! It is more important that you are comfortable in your own skin than being some idealistic size.

Take care : )

I know this much, when my wife looks in the mirror and turns to me smiling, I am sure she is just the right size. She is 48 and 5 foot 4. she is a little heavier and proportioned a bit differently. She feels good about her-self. That is my wife. Wonderful and beautiful woman. Now for you. You describe about 15% of the women around the globe. Some have need for these proportions. Is your bust causing back pain, or making it hard to exercise ? If so, try a good quality sport bra for support. you can show your cleavage when you go out dancing or whatnot. Make sure your measurements don't shape your mind or your heart. Be healthy, live long, and prosper! (seems I've heard that before)

First, congratulations on your weight loss success!
I don't believe in ideal measurements or proportions. I believe in exercising regularly, and eating a healthy diet to maintain a heathy weight. The "Ideal measurements" are arbitrary numbers based on someone's fantasty person and perpetuated by the media. Don't buy into it.

You are young and healthy. If you treat yourself and others with respect, then you already are a beautiful person.

Kindness 100%, wit and intelligence 100%, Body measurements totally unimportant except for the maintenance of good health.

Nobody can tell you how you SHOULD look but yourself. Do you like what you see in the mirror? Are you confident with your looks after losing 65lbs? I say don't live by the society's view on what's ideal, but do what makes you happy and comfortable.

I personally prefer short curvy girls, so imo, you're alright! lol

I dont believe there is a such thing as perfect measurements.
If you are happy and comfortable with how you look, then your measurements are perfect...
Don't worry about "stereotyped measurements"
Congrats on the weight loss! Your body is healthier...
That is more important than any measurements...
Continue to take care of yourself! : )
