Sounds to me like your dogs are getting much better food than can be bought in the most costly of bags! LOL I mean that. Human grade food is much better than even Innova or Solid Gold, or Royal Canin. etc.
I would give them a pet tab or another vitamin supplement along with what they are getting. They can also have some rice, and vegetables etc. There are some real good sites that will suggest wonderful balanced diets, and there are also many vitamin supplements that can be added.

Dry dog food is made for HUMANS!
Sounds shocking but we don't eat it we simply use it to make our lives easier. If we cook balanced diets for our dogs that would be work. But it would be better for the dogs.

Pick a high quality dog food and stick to that for a while. don't make a big deal of trying to get them to eat. Just put the food in their dish on the floor and walk away. If they don't eat it in 20 minutes put it away. Bring it out at their next feeding time and do the same thing. When they get hungry enough they will eat it. You can get companion canned dog food to add to the dry food if they like something moist mixed with it. It won't hurt them to go a whole day without eating. I'm sure by the next morning they will start sniffing at it. When they do stay out of the room and ignore them. Dogs can sense your stress and anxiety and some will refuse to eat because of that.

I've seen my mother-in-law ruin every dog she ever had. She spends the whole day cooking and trying different foods for her dog. The one she has now refuses to eat anything all day, cooked chicken, and even McDonald's hamburgers, he turns his nose at them. Finally at the end of the day she will resort to cream cheese which he knows he will get if he waits long enough. None of her dogs ever ate dog food, and they all had to be hand fed. She complains that her dog never eats but he is overweight from all the cream cheese.

Below is a list of the top 10 high quality dog foods recommended by Whole Dog Journal. Good luck and I hope this helps.

I agree with Jo, stop giving the dogs people food today, and put down some real dog food. Eventually the dogs will become hungry enough that they will eat the food given to them. Adding some warm water to the food might make it more palatable to the dogs, so maybe try that as well. Don't worry, your dogs will not starve to death, at the most they will become hungry and try to get you to feed them the foods that you started with, but don't give in to their attempts!! Be strong, and you will win-you are supposed to be the Alpha dog in the house, remember?

I'd be more worried about the foil than the small egg. A limited amount of chocolate won't kill your dog, but it is still bad. If you're REALLY scared you can poor 3% hydrogen peroxide (DO NOT use any thing stronger as it WILL hurt your dog) down your dogs throat to induce vomiting (I'd suggest putting her in a bath tub or outside first). I'd also suggest calling your vet first, or an emergency clinic and asking a professional.

The dogs won't starve if they have something available to eat. Of course they'd prefer the eggs & meat mixture.

2 ways to switch:

- cold turkey
- mix together for about 3 days.

Put good quality dry dog food out for them..something like Purina or IAMS...and NOTHING ELSE!
They will eat when they get hungry. Be sure that there is plenty of clean water for them and watch the Sheltie. Shelties can be kind of picky, so keep an eye on that one. The terrier should go ahead and chow down when it figures out that you have stopped being its private chef.

Start putting the cooked food in with a tiny bit of dog food, mixing it together well. In a short time, start adding less cooked food and a little more dog food. Hope that helps. Also there are bottled gravy sauces(beef, chicken, etc.) to put on dry dog food to get them to eating their food.

start mixing your other food in with the meat and eggs and work your way up. or just give them the dry food and wait a few days. no way will an animal starve to death when there is something possibly edible in front of them.

They will not starve to death as long as you have dog food out for them. If you want to switch them over, drop the people food cold turkey and don't cave in for them.
The most that I would do is add water to the dog food to soften it for them.

Good Luck!

Just let them eat the dog food. They might whine for a while but will eat it when they get hungry. Be the master, not the servant.
