The Cry was, "No taxation without representation." We wanted to escape the tyranny that we faced in the European Monarchies and the Rigged "Democratic" systems. The government kept the masses down for too long and the masses revolted.

One of the reasons why our country was formed in the first place was that we did not have a voice at all. The monarchies of Europe decided everything. The story goes that we split because we felt that taxation without representation was unfair and that we could do better on our own.
