I'm not sure this is a question that can be sufficiently answered. Surgery is always different for everyone. There are always a lot of different factors that determine the length of the surgery. I hope things go well for you, or the person you were asking for. God Bless!

i cannot answer definitely. surgeries that involve resection of of the GI tract can be very complicated. ( not to mention the individuals response to general anesthetic ) i had 2 + feet of my small intestines removed approx. 4 years ago. be sure to follow ALL instructions given by your surgeon. ask about the risks of post surgery infections. i had to wear a device called a JP bulb attached to a tube inserted into my side to remove a football size mass of infection that impaired my ability to breathe. works like a baby nose suction bulb but larger. the surgery went fine but the infection nearly killed me. be prepared for a long recovery period if the surgery cannot be done with a scope. abdomen muscle are hard to build back up after such a surgery. you never realize how much work your abs do in just stabilizing your upper body. and for your sake please be careful when taking pain meds post surgery!!!!!
