I always thought everyone who drank celebrated it, so it's a drinking holiday and if you don't drink you have to stay home. Yes, ban the holiday. It's racist against teetotalers!

In that case let's get rid of ALL holidays. If you are not a vet, you can't celebrate veteran's day. If you didn't lose a loved one in a war you cannot celebrate memorial day. If you are not a Christan you can not celebrate Christmas. I could go on all day with this. Seriously, how do most people celebrate St. Patrick's day anyway? They drink beer and wear green. If you wanna drink beer and wear green that day I don't think anybody will give a damn. Don't forget your favorite Irish Drinking song! I like "Peggy Gordon" myself, that song brings a tear to me eye.

It most definitely not racist! Anyone can be Irish for one day every year. When you say "they do not let anyone else celebrate," who is the "they"? It is a fun, upbeat celebration at the end of winter to welcome in spring. If you feel you can't celebrate St. Pat's, that's your problem as no one else is stopping you. I am most definitely not Irish, but have been celebrating for years ... and having a ball.
Lighten up and join in the fun!

Actually, only Irish Catholics should celebrate it. St. Patricks say is a day of indulgence wherein the Irish CAtholics can drink in excess during lent. No other Catholics can. It is due to the great and amazing life of St. Patrick.

Saint Patrick was a Roman citizen of the land of the Eire. He is a saint to all catholics as well as well as other Christian groups. His "cross" is the Red Diagonal Cross in the British Flag. The American Saint Pattys day is celebrated by many ethnicities, Quite a few Blcks and Hispanics wear the green on that day.

You are incorrect...many people who are not Irish celebrate this day. I'm not Irish, but I think St Patricks Day is a great excuse to simply celebrate people...its been a long winter and people need to loosen up a little....relax, have a green beer and be happy.

no and i don't think the irish is the only one who can celebrate it in fact they all invite everybody to be irish on this particular day, and no way that you can stop its celebrations because a lot of beer companies, and bars and irish drinkers will never allow it.

St Patricks day is not only for the Irish. If you think of it that way, then just think of the holiday as "Green Day"(not the band). I mean green never gets any credit

No they don't...
Ever heard the phrase: "EVERYONE is Irish on St. Patrick's Day!"????
Put on a green hat, drink some green beer and stop worrying about Irish people being racist.
Cuz we're not!!!
