Out-of-Body Experiences are not uncommon, haya, I've had more than one myself. It is natural, and should not be threatening, but I can well understand you freaking out occasionally. Coming back into the body is, I agree, a bit weird, but it settles down after a while. Eat something. Get into a bowl of something. Hog down a chocolate bar, have a strong coffee. I find that a strong coffee "grounds" me.
How to stop the randomness of it I know not, I'm afraid, but eating generally grounds you, and it might settle down. Try to remember where you've been, and don't be upset if it's not a place you know. If you can document it, even if it seems weird, that may also help settle it down.

Some call it "astral travel" or "out of body experience".
Probably you were only dreaming, but it does feel strange.
Next time it happens, make yourself look at your hands. That will give you control over your dream. Then you will be able to do whatever you wish in your dream.
Have fun.
Remember, it's _YOUR_ dream.

I have never experienced this and don't know anyone who has, but I have heard and believe that Christians are generally protected against strange supernatural experiences. Go to church, seek the company of believers, become one yourself.

I know a place with these really cool white jackets. They have really long arms and would fit you quite well. They let you hug yourself all day long :-)
