I've tried everything. Q-tips. Sweet oil. Murine Ear treatments. The doctor says there's no wax build-up in fact they are very clean. Can anyone tell me what this might be and what I might do about this? This is driving me crazy! I wish I had 3 foot Q-tip but I'd puncture my eardrum!

You might have a mild fungus growth in your ears. Look for a product in drug stores called Sino-Fresh. I've used it successfully to get rid of itchiness in my ears and sinus passages.

You could have allergies. When the pollen starts flying in the spring and I don't have any antihistamines in my system, my ears get itchy inside too (along with itchy eyes, itchy roof of my mouth, sneezing). You could try an over the counter allergy medicine like Claratin and see if it helps, or better yet go see an allergist and explain your dilemma. They can offer skin testing to find out what you are allergic to or prescribe stronger allergy medication if over the counter stuff doesnt help. An ear nose and throat doctor would also be a great person to see about this. Hope this gives you another avenue to explore to help feel better!

Consult an ENT surgeon or your Family doctor. There may be chronic bacterial infection of a mild nature, kept in check by the ear wax. Another rare probability is an irritation of the branch nerves, which cannot go away with the tricks tried by you, but will improve with correction of your head's posture.

My nose is often like this--the inside is itchy and I sneeze a lot. The doctor said it was a mild allergy. I take Claritin and it helps.
