Hydrogen isn't any more combustible than gasoline (petrol). This is just scare tactics generated by big business. There are those who would like for us to believe that fossil fuels are the only thing available to extract energy from. The fact is that you can extract energy from the sun and store it in many forms. One is to use the sun's power to separate water into hydrogen and oxygen. There are many ways to use hydrogen for power. Internal combustion engines are probably the least efficient way. There are hydrogen cells that use the gas to produce electricity directly by using it's ionic properties. These "hydrogen cells" are very expensive, but as in most advances in technology, the cost will come down in time.

Hydrogen is more combustible then Gasoline. Hydrogen is in a gas state. Yes it can be put into a liquid state but it would be pointless because it would be more expensive then gasoline. But if you were to run Hydrogen in the car yes it would run but since it is a gas it can be compressed to store more and also if any combustible element is in a gas state is easier to ignite then if it was in a liquid form. So really its better to use Gasoline then hydrogen to run the car. its more explosive then gas since it would be in a gas state and also it would cost much more if the hydrogen was made into a liquid.

Yes but there are some practical difficulties like storage of hydrogen in tank like petrol. We must have to go for cryogenics or use hydrogen fuel cells. Its flame propagation rate much higher than our ordinary fuels....

Many combinations of fuel and oxidant are possible. A hydrogen cell uses hydrogen as fuel and oxygen as oxidant. Other fuels include hydrocarbons and alcohols. Other oxidants include air, chlorine and chlorine dioxide

yes. but as hyd is a highly combustible gas,it needs maximum protection. Also, if stored as a liquid, it is a costly affair.
