the decline of standards in business/education/service/quality of life related to illegal immigration?

I know I will get tons of flaks for this, and the term "RACIST" is not far in sight, either. But for those of you who have the ability to look at issues with a realistic/quantative/honest mind, please tell your stories without insulting or falsely accusing anyone. The key here is HONESTY and OBJECTIVENESS.

well, I do see the connection from noticing how many towns/cities that have large amount of illegal immigrants become terribly run-down, seedy, even dangerous. Schools with large number of students from illegal immigrant family where most students not only can't speak English no matter how long they are taught by "bilingual" teachers, they do very very poorly academically, because, according to some citizens of Hispanic ancestry, these people simply don't value education as their children's future.

There are millions of illegal immigrants and children of illegal immigrants in California, particularly concentrated in Los Angeles. 50% of the ESL demographic drops out of schools, schools for all are overcrowded and running on year round schedules, 40% of LAUSD teachers are on emergency certificates, $400,000,000 of MediCal was spent last year on illegal immigrant services in California alone (and remember, they don't track the children born here) yet the post above me says there is no impact?

There is a huge impact. They are too poor to pay enough taxes to pay their way and money doesn't equal up and running schools, in any event.

Their better life is at our expense, and our children are paying the biggest price.

Tim a totatly agree with what your saying. i'm not goin to acusse no won. but this is true. Theirs people that cross legally to california and they pay someone to stay here temporary just to come and have a child and 1's that child is born they go back to mexico. but thats not it. they also come back to get the so call wic. and welfare ok. and thats not it. theirs programs like section 8 and they get it. they also bring theirs kids to are school. and who pays the price of that we do.So you tell me who are we sopouse to be watching 4 the illegal immigrants are does who come in legal. This is very serious. and what? is are gov doin?

You've laid out a forum for good discussion...but I'd like to understand how it is you relate the two? Can't really comment, because I don't see the relation between illegal immigration and the declining standards in American life. Please continue your thought, and I'd be happy to comment respectfully and logically....
