Don't do it. One, it will likely hurt your friendship. Two, think about why they broke up. What makes you think you'll be any different? It is not worth it. Think about how you would feel if you were in her place.

Forget about him COMPLETELY.
I'm presuming you'd have talked to your friend first and also thinking that your friend will say something like: "Oh whatever, I'm SO over him, go ahead if you want to..." But DON'T. Not only will your friend be lying (she WILL mind, on some level, and it WILL change your relationship) but he'll also probably turn around and do the exact same thing to you somewhere down the road. DON'T GO THERE.

Leave him alone, unless you don't value the friendship. There are tons of boys around that you could date. If he is so super, why do you think he and your friend broke up?

I would ask my friend this question.. " Are you my true friend?" Then ask " Do you want the best for me?" Then if she says no to any of the questions then forget her!! I would take the man. But if she says yes then she would allow you to take her X! But it is up to you. Do you really love him> THink
