I have gotten into the habit of spreading butter on wheat bread and eating it when I get hungry. I am afraid I will start putting on the pounds again if I dont stop it.

ALSO I SOMETIMES ADD A LITTLE SHREDDED CHEESE AS WELL AND ADD A SLICED TOMATO AND ONION AND MAKE A SANDWICH.

IS THIS REALLY FATTENING?

Yes it is fattening. Butter is over 80% saturated fat!!!

On the other hand, at least it's a natural product unlike margarine which to be frank, is just a load of chemicals and vegetable fat - yuk.

Unfortunately, butter has a whopping 100 calories per tablespoon so if you are spreading lots of it on pieces of bread several times a day, those calories will add up fast and cause weight gain if you are not exercising to burn them off.

A tablespoon of butter is 100 calories. That is fairly concentrated calories in a pretty small space.

yes it has got alot of fat in it, and a hell of alot of calories. Your weight probably will start to creep up if you eat alot of bread and butter
