There is this guy that i really like. He's super smart, funny, friends with everyone, but still kind of shy. Well he gave me a necklace (really nice, from Rome). After awhile my friends started bugging him about it and asking why, because i kept saying i wanted to know why. He wouldn't answer them. The other day i let my friend Julia see it and i said "It sure is making things strange around here." So she gets up and goes over to the guy, and says, "Lee doesn't feel right keeping this, if you didn't have a reason for giving it to her."
and she gave it back to him.
Ahhh i feel naked without the necklace on!!! Now when i have to talk to him, he won't make eye contact and is really quiet and if he does have to talk to me, he's kind of rude, not himself. Then i see him with his friends and he acts normal.
So what is going on? Should i talk to him? What do i say? I don't want to seem like an idiot because he might now like me. Or does he?

u let ur friend do the talking for u and she was very rude. so that is why he is now rude to u. he got his feelings hurt bc a gift he gave to u was returned (by someone other than u)

Its pretty simple, you shouldn't have returned the necklace.
Apologize, have a good talk with him. Talk about the necklace. Be very very friendly. Make it up to him. He did after all, take the effort to buy you a necklace. Maybe you should buy something back for him.
All will be well. And if it doesn't go well then it just means that he doesn't undertsand and that's ok then.

Lee, it's your move. Julia had no right to give your present back to him. Go and apologize to him for letting her do that - and make sure he knows that she was the bossy one in this, and then ask for it back, and when can you two meet for a soda, or coffe, or whatever. Let him know what you feel, even at the expense of Julia's credibility - she took the responsibility, let her bear it now. Courage, girl - you can do it, and the sooner the better!

I think that he feels weird that your friend gave a present back that he gave to you. He didn't have to get anything but since he did it must obviously mean something to him. You said that he was shy so maybe he just wasn't ready to go that extra step with you yet and just wanted to get closer to you. I think that you apologize for your friends rudeness towards him, and say how feel and make the first step.

do u like him as a friend, or more then a friend. also the necklace was given to you because his love language is giving. It was a sign to you that he liked you more then just a friend. My advice is if you like him ask him out cause he's too shy. If you don't like him let hm off easy because he sounds fragile

HE SEEMS RUDE?! What you and your friend did was outta control RUDE! He gave you a nice gift because he liked you, and you disrespected him and gave it back. You hurt his feelings, so perhaps you should suck it up and say you are sorry for making him look like a fool and hope and pray that he forgives you.

ok, so i think he definitally gave it to you for a reason.. and he just might be too shy right now to tell you.. he probably likes you
Did you actually go and ask him why he gave it to you>? or was it just your friends talking to him?
If you didnt ask him, he probably wants you to, or maybe ask him to go bowling.. a casual date and fun to hang out with him, and if your nervous, then you dont have to worry about an ackward dark movie theatre..

he probably gave it to you because he does like you but it hurt his feelings when she gave it back to him and he is too shy to tell you he likes you so you should tell him that you were wondering if the reason he gave it to you is because he likes you and see what he says and just take it from there
