Definately go back to the doctor, sometime people have pains and it turns out to be gas. Even lasting for a few days. You say its not food related, but are you sure? Take some antacid or gas-x. Wouldnt hurt! But go see doc again too!

It actually does sound like trapped gas, but if it persists, go back to the doc. Try some anti gas pills and see if it helps. Could also be a muscle strain. Don't worry about Gall bladder, liver or pancreas disease, they are on the right side, not the left. If you have a cold or flu, it could be bronchitis, but I'm sure your doc would have recognized that. My guess is it's a muscle sprain if it's constant. If it comes and goes, probably gas.

It could just be trapped gas...that can be very painful. Try exercising? The doctor "should" know what he's talking about...but you never know. Follow through on his advice, but if you still have the pain in a few days, seek help elsewhere.
I'll never understand why doctors don't say what they THINK it might be...

wait and see is the not best solution. could be anything from a muscle to your liver or gallbladder. If the pain is too bad I
would consult another doctor.

Might be pancreatitis or gall stones. Go back to your doctor and be firm that something is still wrong. If he/she still blows you off, go get another opinion.
