Hi there any advise would be very much appreciated thanks

I am going to New York in early May as a surprise for my husbands 40th birthday, would like to take in all the sights or as many as possible am going for five nights so any suggestions on what to see? also I think I have narrowed down the hotels to either The Doubletree Metropolitan Hotel or else The Helmsley Park Lane please help if you have stayed in either of these hotels or can reccomend one over the other as I am just going by other peoples reviews which I usually find give the best advise I don't plan on spending to much time in the hotel but it has to be clean with a comfy bed. Thank you so much to anyone that can offer any advice. Will let you know which hotel I go with.

Don't know where the Doubletree is. If it's downtown, I'm sure it will be fine. I've stayed at Doubletree in other cities. I do know where the Helmsley is and it is central to all the action, sights, shows, shopping and restaurants in Manhattan. Besides, Leona was such a character...why not stay there? It will be something fun to brag about.

I would pick the Doubletree Metropolitan. It was the old Loew's Hotel and I am sure when Doubletree took over, it was completely renovated. It is in a great location on Lexington Ave in the 50's. Also it is a Hilton brand and you will receive points if you have a Hilton FF card. There are a number of hotels in that area, and I am sure competition will be to your advantage. I lived in Manhattan NYC for 18 years.

I've stayed in the Helmsley each time I've been to New York, location is great,a couple of minutes walk to Time Square, Broadway Radio City and the subway. I know you're not in the hotel room an awful lot but the view from the rooms is great if you request a Central Park view when making your booking, great bar on the top floor and very friendly staff. I wouldn't stay anywhere else

No important distinction in those 2 lodges. I provided you some promo codes under. they're especially close to a similar fee. Be recommended! the Luxor is working a sort of scam on the expenses. They quote a low fee than slam you with over a hotel fee of extra effective than $10 consistent with night. The hotel fee at long island-long island is $3 consistent with night. Many different lodges do no longer can charge one extra hotel fee. remember, over seven nights it rather is a massive distinction, $21 vs $76. *
