My artist did a big painted airbrush piece on his pregnant friends big belly that looked like a tattoo, it was really cute and totally safe. Not sure what your asking here, just thought I would add my ten cents worth.

id get airbrush b/c it is removeable and wont be on ur skin for ur whole life!! if u want 2 get something in memory to some1 u really cared about, then get a tattoo....if its just like i want to get it for the heck of it...then AIRBRUSH!!
