I have had a son of my own - I've also gave one baby up for adoption - and last but not least, I was a surrogate mother three times. In all of these situations, the end results were the same, people became families. Not only did a husband and wife become parents, but I have gained many, precious friendships through this.

So, to answer you question, all three of these options are just as wonderful and as joyful as the others. Believe me, I've seen it first hand.

I would choose to give birth, but if for some reason I was unable to give birth I would go with surrogacy because the child could still be related to and my child legally. I am a surrogate and I know that giving birth is a very wonderful thing whether it be for your own child or a child that you are helping another family have. But at the same time I would just want the baby to be healthy and loved.

I would love to give birth to my children, but I find nothing wrong with adopting too. My sister and I are adopted from two different families and I would be willing to follow in my parents foot steps with that.

I would be a bit apprehensive about surrogacy because there are so many stories of surrogate mothers keeping the baby after birth and I would hate to have two people get hurt.

Well, with surrogacy you do eventually give birth.

I would prefer adoption for my own self if ever I decided to be a parent, but at this stage in my life, I'd love to be a surrogate for someone else. I just think that is one of the most selfless acts possible.

I chose giving birth twice.
I think adoption is a good choice, I'm not so sure about the whole surrogacy thing though. I would be afraid that the woman would get too emotionally attached and wouldn't want to give me the baby (that has happened before).

Hi, I chose to give birth 6 times(3 ended in miscarriage, the last one this weekend, and we lost our first son to SIDS at 9 months old) and am in the process of adopting my son! I am no longer able to have children so now we much choose adoption in a few years when we want another.

I am a waiting parent....currently waiting for my adoption placement. Most women in my position, would probably tell you that they are "in my situation" due to complications with fertility and carrying their biological child.

Of course my first wish was to be able to be able to carry my baby, however, after the emotional and physical struggles over 6 years with infertility, ivf, misscarriages, IUI's, etc., I realized that the one thing I wanted MOST, was to be a PARENT. Adoption became my option for that, and I am so very pleased and excited that my dream of becoming a parent will come true sometime in the future. The wait is the hard part.

I think surrogacy is a wonderful thing. It is such a loving act.
Women who make the sacrifice physically, and emotionally are angels.
