You are right but there is also a stumbling block, which is to cause some else to sin. Get a Strong's Concordance and use it. The Strong's takes the words of the bible back to the original languages and gives you the correct meanings. It will be a tremendous help to you.

If you have "stumbled" in the sense that you are asking, you have fallen away from God. Whether it be in a broader sense of sin or specific, it would all be the same.
To God no sin is greater than any other.

I think it means to trip but not to fall. We make decisions. We live with our consequences, and can not change that. But we can learn, we can do better the next time. We can also learn from history, so we do not make the same errors as those before us.
