No, motrin is ibuprofen. Excedrin has asprin in it.

No, Motrin is ibuprofen. Aspirin is aspirin. Excedrin is acetaminophen. If you're unsure of what to take and take several medications, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist so you don't take too much of any of these. This is a mistake that many people make by taking a prescription drug that contains either acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Then they take an over the counter medication that contains the same ingredient along with the prescription, doubling the maximum dosage amount. It's best to double check especially when in doubt. Motrin (generic name is ibuprofen) does not have aspirin in it, but the two are in a similar drug class called Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory drugs (NSAID). If you have an allergy to aspirin, you could have some similar reactions with motrin or other drugs with ibuprofen. Aleve (naproxen) is also in the NSAID drug class and you could have problems with it, too if you are allergic to asprin. All NSAIDs also can be pretty rough on your stomach, so take them with food or milk.
