I will try to answer this with science ! First he worked sit days then rested on Saturday. Living forever a day to him may be 100 yrs, 1000 yrs. etc. So in a couple of minutes (200 yrs) he checks his project and sees its going bad he keeps the good part and flushes the rest down the toilet ( Noah's Ark ). Then he decides to start a new patch in another tube on the other side of the table ( 10,000 light years for us ). He comes back the next day ( 10,000 yrs for us ), and decides to check on first batch, he finds it cancerous (sin, war, murder ) checks to see if any is worth saving and burns the rest so the infection won,t spread.

God works every second. he never stoped. he worked 6 days to create our enviroment (earth, stars, galaxies, grass), and he works through holy spirit till now.
